Saturday, May 5, 2012 – (The First Saturday in May)

Yes it’s that time of year again, the first Saturday of May every year is Free Comic Book Day. Along with free comics and other goodies to help promote literacy, we will have several artists. Randy Emberlin, Gary Martin, Corrosive Comics Studios with tattoo artist AnnMare’ Grove, Derek Tall and Chris Thomas. Also movie accurate costumed characters and other guests. This year we are lucky to host the 1966 Batmobile replica from the Batman TV show. Along with the 1966 Batman, and a modern movie Batman. The Star Wars 501st/Rebel Legion will be on hand for pictures. “Frank The Truck” with his 6’ working Tesla Coil, DOA Pro Wrestling Stars will also be appearing. And we will have a “Super Hero” photo booth to dress up, and take pictures with your favorite super heroes.
Whenever we do an event I always incorporate a charity, and usually onFCBD we champion a couple. We encourage donations for the Marion Polk Food Share. We usually collect 3-4 barrels of food every year on FCBD. And we will be having a silent auction for some awesome swag, and a raffle to sit in the 1966 TV Batmobile for pictures, with all proceeds going to The Children's Miracle Network.

Yes its that time of year again folks. This will be our 3rd Annual Toy/Food Drive, and this year it falls on the same day as the Festival of Lights Parade. So you can come on down, get pictures with your favorite Star Wars characters, donate a toy for the USMC Toys for Tots and Simonka Place Women's and Children's Shelter , food for the food bank, get a free comic and then watch the parade from the parking lot. Curt from the Keizer food bank was just here and said their "shelves are BARE". If you buy a toy to donate at Tonys Kingdom I will match it with another, and it should be easy as were having a huge sale that day also. So please spread the word and help us make a difference.
